WHAT TIME WILL YOU BE ASKED TO SPEAK? Do you have the fortitude to be patient enough to stay online until you are called to speak? Council could potentially make you wait all afternoon into early evening.

City Council Meeting starts at 2 pm. The rent cap is the last item on a long Agenda. We estimate earliest time you could potentially be called to speak is perhaps 3:30. However, CAUSE is asking that the discussion be postponed until evening, so we are guessing that the City Council might not ask for your comments until 5:30 or 6.

SBRPA will try to email our members Tuesday afternoon @ half hour before the Council calls for comments to alert you. However, stay on the Zoom call if possible and monitor.

I’m sure City Council would be glad to have SBRPA members give up waiting to speak. They don’t want a repeat of our 2017 Council Meeting where SBRPA members testified until almost midnight.

SEND AN EMAIL TO CITY COUNCIL

It's a numbers game. Council members will count the number of emails they receive for and against the rent cap. Ask other property owners, your siblings, friends, relatives to email City Council. It's enough to just write:

I AM STRONGLY OPPOSED TO RENT CAP AND RENT REGISTRY.
